Norfolk Apostolic Church - Norfolk, Virginia

The Apostolic United Pentecostal Church of Norfolk, Virginia was founded by Rev. George McAdams a retired Navy man from Minden, LA who had felt a call of God to return to this city that he had served in with the military and start a new CFC church with the help of the Home Missions Division and the District. The church was formed as a Home Missions work in the late fall of 1983. Brother McAdams pastored the work for about 3 years and led the church to purchase it's first building which was a community center at 1575 Kerrey Ave in the Fox Hall section. The Lord called Brother McAdams to another work in the state of LA.

God then brought Pastor and Sister Michael G. Blankenship off the evangelistic field to come and take the fledgling work. Their first service was a Wednesday night Bible study on September 15, 1987. At that time there were 12 adult members and about 30 in Sunday School. Since then, God has blessed the church with a steady growth every year that has brought us to where we are today with a congregation numbering about 350.
